Rodado, Giner and Jordi Sánchez scored the goals for an Ibiza team who climb up to sixth place in the table.
Ibiza got back on the winning track. Palop’s men were back to the kind of form that they had shown during the recent 8 match unbeaten run, beating Real Murcia in an exciting match at Can Misses. Rodado opened the scoring with a clinical finish into the bottom corner, Giner bagged the second on the stroke of half-time, and Jordi Sánchez rounded off Ibiza’s 11th win of the league season.
Ibiza were on top straight from kick-off, Giner had a chance in the first minute but his low shot towards the bottom right corner was saved by the Real Murcia goalkeeper. Five minutes later, Albizua came close with powerful header from a corner. Ibiza had made a very good start and the Can Misses crowd were enjoying a fast-paced game.
Ibiza continued to create chances and the first goal arrived in the 16th minute. Grima did well to win possession on the right, played a clever one-two with Cirio, and then threaded a perfectly weighted through-ball between two defenders for Rodado to run onto. The young striker drilled it into the bottom left, giving the ‘keeper no chance, Ibiza were in the lead. And Ibiza doubled their advantage right on the stroke of half-time. Giner, making his first start since signing, got on the end of a loose ball at the back post and stuck his chance away.
The second half saw the away side pushing forward in search of a way back into the game, and they found it with Armando’s goal in the 53rd minute. The game evened up and became slightly disjointed due to various stoppages. Ibiza were still looking dangerous on the break, and it was through one such counter that the third goal came. Jordi Sánchez, making his first appearance at Can Misses after coming on for Rodado at half-time, ran onto a long ball over the top of the opposition defence and lobbed the goalkeeper. A memorable way for Jordi to get his first Ibiza goal.
Murcia scored a late goal through Miguel Díaz. Javi García could have got a fourth for Ibiza right at the very end, after dribbling past various defenders and into the box but he was unable to get his shot off. The final whistle was blown, a great 3-2 win for Ibiza.
