Ibiza defeat Jumilla with goals for Raí, Iosu and Cirio (2).
The penultimate league fixture at Can Misses brought another win for an on-form Ibiza side. The Celestes put in an excellent performance to beat Jumilla, despite being down to ten men for the last half hour of the match. A goal from Raí was followed by a Cirio brace, and the 4-1 win was rounded off by Iosu.
Ibiza gained control of possession early on and showed patience in their build-up play against a Jumilla side who were defending deep and in numbers. The first goal arrived in the 18th minute after Provencio broke into the box and passed inside for Rodado. The young striker was unselfish and slipped the ball across to Raí who drove the ball past the goalkeeper and a diving defender to put Ibiza ahead.
The home team continued to attack and they got their reward just before the break. A perfectly weighted Provencio pass out to Rodado on the right wing was well controlled and a delicious cross was finished at the back post by Cirio. The teams went in at the break with Ibiza leading 2-0.
The second half saw Jumilla get themselves back into the game through a Manolo penalty in the 48th minute. And things got worse for Ibiza on the hour mark with a second yellow for Mariano that left the home team down to ten men. Ibiza kept their composure and managed to carry on controlling possession. Rodado put Cirio through for a one on one with the ‘keeper, the captain lifted it over him to restore the two-goal lead. And in the 83rd minute, Iosu latched on to a nice Cirio lay-off and hit a confident first-time finish into the bottom left to seal a 4-1 win for Ibiza.
