“Mornings like the one today show us what level we are at”, said Pablo Alfaro in his declarations to the media after the friendly match against Villarreal B. According to Ibiza’s head coach, drawing with a team like Villarreal B is a good indicator as it is “a club that does great work and has a high standard.”
“Villarreal B showed us the level we need to be at”, stated Ibiza’s gaffer. For Alfaro, whose side scored in the second minute of the encounter and saved a penalty thanks to its goalkeeper Chanza, today’s performance against Villarreal showed that his team cannot afford to drop its level at any point during a match.
“We need to be fully concentrated from the warm-up until the final whistle”, explained Alfaro. The coach is confident his side will continue to process and internalise concepts and improve its physical conditioning in the coming days before completing the club’s preseason camp in Valencia in the best possible fashion, namely with a victory on Sunday against Castellón.
For Ángel Rodado, the striker who scored the opener against Villarreal B, it was his first outing playing alongside his teammates Fran Carbia, Kwasi Sibo and Javi Lara: “A camp like this serves to build a good environment in the team and to build on the qualities of the new arrivals, qualities and strengths which were on show today”.
