David Morillas Jiménez is the type of person who is naturally likeable. Unión Deportiva Ibiza can confirm this at first hand. The Murcia born player, who joined the Sky Blue entity a short while ago, was officially presented this afternoon by sporting director Fernando Soriano. “Due to his experience and professionalism we are convinced that he will bring us a lot in that area, not just the sporting side of thing. Within the dressing room he is a very dynamic player who creates a good environment. As you know, these are aspects that we are constantly looking for and also take into consideration in order for someone to contribute to a good group environment”, said Soriano, while also pointing out that Morillas is much more than a left-sided player due to his strong ball technique.
The new signing says he is already aware of the club having its own identity. This comes from someone who has played 118 matches over the last four seasons in Second Division A representing Huesca, UCAM Murcia, Albacete and Rayo Majadahonda. Having only arrived recently, Morillas says he already has a special feeling. “It feels like I have been here for a long time already. I always try to be positive and happy and transmit that to my teammates. Let’s hope that these things together with what we do on the pitch can lead us to having a good season”, he said as he fronted the media. He also pointed out that he has encountered “a very healthy environment in the dressing room filled with ambition”. These good vibes have helped the veteran of 32 years of age to “ease into life” with Ibiza in order for him to be an “important player” and contribute his part to “a beautiful project”.
