Unión Deportiva Ibiza will play eight friendly matches this pre-season. The first test for the Ibizan players will take place tomorrow at the Municipal de Sant Rafel stadium. The Sky Blues will take on their affiliate team, which will compete in the Third Balearic Division for the twelfth consecutive time. The match will kick off at 8pm and will see some of Ibiza’s new signings take to the pitch for the first time since arriving on the island.

The majority of the squad’s summer friendlies, however, will be played in the Valencian Community (Ibiza will travel to the region on Thursday to set up its pre-season camp for a period of nearly three weeks at the Escuela de Fútbol Cracks CF). The first match is set to be played at Valencia Club de Fútbol’s sports complex. Ibiza will take to the field at Paterna to face Mestalla (Saturday 27 July, 7.30pm).

Following that match, there will be two encounters against opposition from Group VI of the Third Division. First off, Ibiza will take on Vilamarxant Club de Futbol at its home ground (Wednesday 31 July, 8.15pm) before hosting Atzeneta Unió Esportiva (Saturday 3 August, 10am) at its pre-season base. The Valencia based preparation then continues with a friendly against Villarreal B (Wednesday 7 August, 10am) and comes to an end when facing Castellón (Sunday 11 August, 7pm). Both of these friendly matches will be held at Escuela de Fútbol Cracks CF.

The team will return to Ibiza on Monday 12 August. There will then be two more interesting test matches on the agenda for Pablo Alfaro’s men. The first will be played at Can Misses against the recently promoted Peña Deportiva. The encounter between both island teams competing in Second Division B will occur on 16 August at 8pm. The day after, Ibiza will head to Savina. In the Municipal de Sant Francesc stadium it will face Formentera. This will be the last test before the season proper gets underway with the match kicking off at 8pm.

One week later, Pablo Alfaro will lead his team into the new campaign of Second Division B by taking on Las Palmas Atlético where the real competition for points will begin in earnest.
