Fran Grima – one of the most charismatic and seasoned players in Ibiza’s squad – will remain a Sky Blue until 30 June 2021. The club reached an agreement with the right-back to extend his contract for one more season. Grima, who arrived at Can Misses in summer of 2018, has seen the club grow as part of its ambitious project, which, after a stellar season that included matches against Albacete and FC Barcelona as well as two memorable derby wins against Peña Deportiva and Atlético Baleares, will enter its next phase in a few weeks’ time with the start of the promotion playoff to the Second Division. “Remaining a part of Ibiza is one of the things that right now make me the happiest. I’m really pleased to stay here on the island, a place I’ve come to consider home.” Grima is not the only one who is happy to remain a part of the club, club president Amadeo Salvo is equally as delighted. “Fran is one of the players who best represent what this club is all about. In his two seasons here, he identified himself with the club and its projects in the maximum way possible. Therefore, we’re very happy to have him with us going forward”, said the club’s owner. Grima cannot wait to begin the adventure that lies ahead that is the promotion playoff in an attempt to cap off a memorable and historic season for the club. “I want to show my appreciation to the club for giving me the opportunity to keep helping the team. I hope to return the faith placed in me by helping the club get promoted to the Second Division. That’s the objective my teammates and I firmly have our eyes on”.
