Diego Roberto Mendoza was born in General Madariaga, located in the province of Buenos Aires in the south of Argentina’s capital city on 30 September 1992. At 26 years of age, the Argentine will get his first taste of European football with Unión Deportiva Ibiza.

Mendoza has been signed to strengthen the attacking stocks of the Sky Blues. His arrival comes as a result of the loan agreement Ibiza has reached with Club Atlético Huracán who own the player’s rights. With the team nicknamed ‘El Globo’, Mendoza played in the Argentine Superliga, the country’s premier competition. Prior to that, Mendoza, a product of the youth system of Estudiantes de La Plata, played for a number of different clubs which included Belgrano. Apart from playing in Argentina’s top tier, the striker also has experience playing in the Copa Libertadores.

Diego Mendoza is a striker who stands at 1,86 metres tall, he is a powerful forward and complements the other strikers which Pablo Alfaro has at his disposal. Ibiza retains an option to sign Mendoza outright, who is a Spanish passport holder. Once the player arrives in Ibiza, he will undergo a medical and link up with the squad.
