0-1: IBIZA DEFEAT ALMERÍA B WITH A CIRIO GOAL

The captain's goal means Ibiza take three important points from their visit to the Estadio de los Juegos del Mediterráneo.

Ibiza beat Almería B to get a hard-earned victory in the race for Copa del Rey qualification. It was Pablo Alfaro's first away win as Ibiza head coach. A Cirio goal on the stroke of half-time was enough to give Ibiza their second win on the bounce.

Alfaro's side began the match using the high block and making it difficult for the home team to play out from the back. Raí and Provencio combined to create Ibiza's first chance but the midfielder from Madrid was unable to finish off a well-worked move. Lucas was called into action at the other end in the eighth minute, making an excellent diving save to deny Sergio Pérez.

Despite enjoying the lion's share of possession, Ibiza had to wait until the very end of the first half to break the deadlock. Bonilla's corner from the left was half headed clear and Cirio was in the right place to volley home and put Ibiza a goal up.

The second half saw Ibiza well positioned on the pitch and Almería B found it tough to create chances. The Celestes were a constant danger on the break; Rodado and Cirio both came close to scoring from quick counter-attacks but were unable to find the target with their finishes.

Alfaro's team kept going until the very end in search of a second goal to seal the win. In injury time, Armenteros was inches away from scoring with a deft header but hit the post. The game ended seconds later, a 0-1 Ibiza victory. The team's good run of form continues, they now turn their focus to next weekend's match at Can Misses, the last home game of the season.
