Ibiza draw against Atlético Malagueño in the last match before the Christmas break.

Ibiza got an away draw in Malaga after having taken a first half lead through a Rodado goal. The Andalusians equalised right at the beginning of the second half.

Straight from kick-off, Ibiza took control of the game and created chances. In fact, Rodado came close to opening the scoring in the very first minute, but the opposition goalkeeper made a good save to deny the young Mallorcan striker. But it didn’t take long for another chance to arrive; on the 16th minute Rodado latched onto a loose ball in the box and he finished clinically to put Ibiza ahead. That’s his fifth of the season and he’s now our leading goalscorer.

The home side were sparked into action by conceding the goal, and pushed forward, looking to get back into the game. Palop’s side managed to deal well with various balls into the box, and went into half-time a goal to the good.

However, the second half began in the worst possible way. Hicham finished off the first attack of the half to put his team back in the match. Despite conceding, Ibiza reacted well and took the game to the home side once again. Nuñez saw his effort from the edge of the box fizz just past the post. Then Javi Serra put in an excellent cross that just need a touch, but nobody could get on the end of it.

Right at the end, Ibiza almost nicked a late winner through a superb long distance shot from Chavero, but the home side’s ‘keeper made an excellent save, and the full-time whistle was blown shortly after. Ibiza take a point back to the island.
