Fran Carbia: "I hope we can celebrate many victories this year"
Nàstic, in his early year, Reus, for the most part of his professional career, and Dinamo Tbilisi, where he spent the last months of the previous season. Those were the teams Fran Carbia Barrera (Tarragona, 31 March 1992) played for before signing for Ibiza, the island that has brough a smile back to his face. "He is an attacking player who can play in three attacking midfield positions, as a second attacker or even as a striker. He has a good goalscoring record and we hope he can help us in that department, apart from providing us with his high work-rate, dedication and intensity", explained Fernando Soriano during the official presentation of the Catalan player.
"I left Reus and ended up leaving Spain. I came here with a tremendous amount of enthusiasm, I look forward to achieve big things and to keep growing as a player and a person", said Carbia, who highlighted "the magnitude" of the Ibizan project which has attracted quality players "who played in Second Division A", as is his own case, and also, "from Second Division B who have a very high level". "Preseason has been very good, it's been packed with a lot of work. If you are tired during preseason it means that you are doing a good job", explained Carbia. In his view, "the passion of the fans" will be "an additional source" of motivation. If the virtue of "patience" is added to that mix, he believes the team can have a great season. Overall, it will be a season of firsts for Carbia who will wear a slightly modified name on the back of his jersey: "Normally, the back of my jersey always used to read F. Carbia; now I will be adding a 'V' for my newly-born daughter Victoria, victories of which I hope there will be many this year".
