Fran Grima: "We wanted to give our fans the joy of a victory for how they support us every week"

Fran Grima and Javi Pérez were Ibiza's players that spoke to the media at the mixed zone of Can Misses after the match. "We wanted to get the three points, but there's a long way to go. The season is still very long. Tomorrow we will start preparing next Sunday's match", explained the team's right-back. For Javi Pérez, the team's performance was by no means inferior to that of the opposition: "We created a lot more than they did, but that's football, sometimes it isn't fair. I think that losing the match is too much of a punishment, but there is a long way to go in the season and a lot of work to be done. Today we lost, but we will bounce back soon I am sure".

Grima valued the goal of Atlético Baleares as a consequence of his teammates wanting to create plays and taking the initiative rather than sitting back. "We're a team that likes to play out from the back. It's a pity, they took advantage of an isolated incident. That's Segunda B football for though, the slightest of errors will be punished", said one of the team's co-captains.

Javi Pérez is adamant that Ibiza has the quality to "win away and at home" starting with the next round away at Oviedo B. It's the best way to move on from a bittersweet derby, where the team, as Grima put it, "wanted to give the fans the joy of a victory as a thank you for how they have been supporting the team, especially today".
