“It was an extremely intense game with a lot of battles all over the park. There weren’t too many chances to score goals on either side today. We knew that Pontevedra was up for this match, because we’ve played each other a number of times this season already”, said Pablo Alfaro to open the post-match press conference at the Pasarón his side’s 0-0 draw in round 23 against Pontevedra.
In a very balanced match, apart from the opening ten minutes where Ibiza had the majority of possession and chances, the final score reflected the tight contest that was played out on a sunny Sunday in Galicia. Pablo Alfaro put it this way: “We wanted to get a good start to the match as we anticipated that they would want to do the same. In the second half, they had a period of ten minutes where we had to defend well and that’s what we did”.
Next up is a home fixture against Coruxo where the Ibiza head coach knows that “we must put on a very good performance in order to get the three points”.
