During today’s post-match press conference at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas sports city, Pablo Alfaro highlighted his side’s capacity to come back from unsettling situations and find its composure. The coach saw an Ibiza side that played “very well” despite starting the match “very poorly”. “While preparing an upcoming league fixture during the week, you always know that unexpected things can take place in a match, but you surely don’t imagine falling behind in the very first minutes“, explained Ibiza’s head coach after today’s round 12 match away to Real Madrid Castilla.
Alfaro identified the key aspects which allowed Ibiza to grow in strength and confidence as the match wore on in which it “dispossessed the reserve team of the ball on many occasions“: “The team showed real character to recompose itself after that early setback, it showed experience and control and we managed to create a match which we wanted to. When we went into their half, we were able to create some damage”.
The coach also showed his appreciation for the visible and audible support for his Ibiza side at the Real Madrid sports city. Thanking the fans for their “effort” and “support“, Alfaro pointed out that “coming back to the island with a win after seeing many sky blue shirts in the stadium” makes today’s victory that little bit more special.
