Ibiza is in its third day of a camp in Galicia to prepare round 25 against Racing de Ferrol on Sunday at the A Malata stadium. Analysing Sunday’s match, Pablo Alfaro knows that his side face a tough test in Ferrol: “We’re coming up against an historic team that has gone through a period they probably didn’t anticipate, because they hoped to be placed higher up the table” Ibiza’s head coach stated. Despite the irregular season Ferrol is having, Alfaro believes that last weekend’s win gave Ibiza’s upcoming rivals a new sense of optimism: “They were able to turn the tide last week and will want to continue in the same way against us”.
Alfaro wouldn’t be surprised if Racing were to make some changes in a rotational move to its line-up on Sunday. Those decisions depend on Ferrol’s fellow Zaragoza-born manager, Emilio Larraz, who achieved good results with modest teams such as Ebro in past seasons. “Emilio Larraz is a very good coach. He is shifting around his squad to look for solutions. It will be a very difficult match, but we are going there with the intention of bringing all three points back to the island”.
