Ibiza has reached a loan agreement with Real Mallorca for the services of Pierre Cornud until 30 June 2020. The agreement comes on the back of Ibiza’s objective to reinforce its squad in the left-back position after the injury suffered by regular starter David Morillas during the Copa del Rey match against Albacete on 11 January. Cornud, born in Avignon (France) and 23 years of age, plays in the desired position and spent the last few months with Real Oviedo B on loan from Mallorca who he has a contract with for the first-team squad after signing with the club in 2017 from the reserve side of French team Dijon. With the Asturians, the defender played twenty league matches (all but one as a starter), scoring one goal. The Frenchman has experience playing against Ibiza having come up the Sky Blues on three previous occasions. On 27 October he played the entire match during Ibiza’s away match at the El Requexón which ended in a draw. Last season, Cornud played for Balompédica Linense, Ibiza’s opponent in  Group IV of Segunda B. He played a total of 35 matches and accumulated nearly three thousand match minutes while at Linense which included two encounters against Ibiza, matches which ended in a nil-all stalemate.
