Unión Deportiva Ibiza has already familiarised itself with the facilities that will be its training camp for the upcoming weeks. The Ibizan travelling contingent (coaching staff, first-team and club officials) arrived at the Cracks football academy in the early afternoon today after five hours of travel. Just before 10am this morning, the official team bus by Dipesa left Can Misses and headed to Marina Botafoch. Card games, TV series on the tablet, musical tunes, naps or drinking mate were some of the ways in which the travelling party spent the two-hour journey to Dénia.
From the port of Alicante, it was then back to getting on a bus. What followed was a trip of approximately 100 kilometres to the north where Ibiza will spend a bit more than a fortnight preparing its season with friendlies and training sessions. The first 90-minute session took place after a much-deserved rest and lunch. The twenty footballers who are in camp then laced their boots to take to the field and its natural grass. Some light ball work was on the agenda first in order to get accustomed to the new surroundings and pitches. What will follow are long days of intense training before returning to Ibiza and putting the finishing touches on the final preparations for the new season.
A lot of work awaits the team as well as five friendly fixtures which will serve to fine-tune the dynamics of the squad and find the right competitive rhythm needed for the first official match of the new campaign.
