1-0. Ibiza produces a solid performance to overcome Getafe B

Intensity. Concentration. Dedication. The list of attributes that Unión Deportiva Ibiza displayed today against Getafe B is extensive. The sky blues put on a solid performance to return to winning ways on home soil. A goal by Ángel Rodado was enough to give the home side the victory against the visitors from Madrid, today playing in an all red strip. The winning goal came in the 41st minute and had the Majorcan's handwriting all over it . Rodado stole the ball of a Getafe defender and set off to enter the opposition's box by himself. From there, it didn't take the striker long to produce an expert finish: his shot escaped the opposition's keeper Marcos and found the back of the net.

The visitors' goalkeeper couldn't stop Rodado from scoring his sixth goal of the season, a month after he had found the back of the net for the last time. Ibiza's number '9' attributed the goal to the collective work of the squad. Prior to opening the score, Rodado, Javi Pérez and Javi Lara all came close to doing so themselves with their respective efforts.

Involved in Ibiza's subsequent attacking play was Toni Arranz, instrumental in his side's performance today from the centre of the pitch. The Madrid-born player was omnipresent throughout the match, putting on an effective and solid performance both defensively and offensively. In defence, Ibiza's goalkeeper Germán did his part to keep the opposition out, producing an important save to stop a Lobato free kick from doing damage to his side. Although his teammates made sure of a relatively quiet afternoon by keeping play centred in Getafe B's half, the Ibiza keeper was always on full alert. Although it was by the smallest of margins, today's performance can be put down as a convincing win for Pablo Alfaro's side which consolidates its position in the top tier of the table.

Apart from once again securing a positive result at Can Misses, another reason for Ibiza's faithful to be in good spirits was the return of Kike López. It took him less than five minutes to be back to his best form and cause the opposition's defence a serious headache with a number of dangerous runs. Ibiza's supporters once again left Can Misses full of optimism for the next challenges that lie ahead. There is no better way to approach the remaining matches before the Christmas break than with a convincing win in what remains a very long and tough season of Segunda B football.
