1-3: IBIZA GO DOWN TO UNDESERVED DEFEAT

Ibiza dominated the match and deserved to get something against a CD El Ejido side who took their chances.

Ibiza were unable to get a second win in a row despite putting in a very good performance against CD El Ejido. Andrés Palop's side controlled most of the game but were unable to get the points their performance deserved, while the opposition proved the importance of effectiveness in front of goal.

Just as they had in the previous match, Ibiza got off to a good start, with the midfield gaining early control of possession. However, it was CD El Ejido who broke the deadlock, with a well-worked counter-attack. Ibiza didn't take long to respond, pushing forward and getting plenty of balls into the box from both set pieces and open play. Borriello came close with a looping header that hit the crossbar, and minutes later the Italian striker laid off to Javi Serra who volleyed into the bottom right to put Ibiza back on level terms.

The second half began much as the first ended, with the Ibizans dominating possession and creating various threatening situations. Just as it seemed that the second goal for the home side was coming, the opposition countered and grabbed a goal to take the lead again. And with Ibiza piling forward to try to find the equaliser, CD El Ejido once against broke and scored, sealing a 1-3 away win. First defeat of the Palop era. Sights are now set on CD San Fernando (matchday 8).
