1-1. Ibiza takes a valuable point from its visit to Las Rozas

Pablo Alfaro had mentioned it in the lead up to the matcha: visiting the Navalcarbón stadium could pose a tricky challenge for his team. That's exactly how today's match turned out to be. Las Rozas was keen on turning around its current form after having had a run of poor results recently, and Ibiza, on the contrary, was looking to get back to producing a good performance as the away team. Las Rozas displayed the characteristics which Ibiza's head coach had analysed and expected prior to today's encounter and given how the match unfolded from the very start, it was to be a challenging afternoon for Pablo Alfaro's side. The result, a one-all draw, with both goals scored from the penalty spot, underlined the hard fought nature of today's round 16 league match which was compounded by the straight red card shown to Ibiza's Gonzalo in the second half.

Ibiza did extremely well to deal with the early set-back and the opening goal by Las Rozas after a questionable penalty was given with the referee judging Rubén to have handled to ball in the box. Facing an early deficit, Ibiza plucked away for the rest of the first half intent on getting back into the game. After the break, things got even more complicated for the Ibiza side dressed all in black today, with Gonzalo shown a straight red card. Nevertheless, Ibiza's spirit and never say die attitude was on full display with the team securing a valuable point after Diego, coming on as a substitute in the second half for Pep Caballé, converted from the penalty spot.

Considering the adverse early circumstances faced early on in the match, Ibiza can be satisfied with the character it showed to salvage a draw from its visit to Las Rozas, now focusing on the final home fixture of the calendar year when it takes on Marino de Luanco next Sunday, 15 December, at Can Misses. Today's draw would be all the more important if Pablo Alfaro's side is able to secure its seventh home win of the season.
