The Coruxo Fútbol Club is the reason this little town of just over five thousand inhabitants which belongs to the Municipality of Vigo is known throughout Spain. While the biggest team in the area is Celta, over the last decade this modest club has achieved to establish itself in the Segunda División B after being promoted in 2010.

Having never competed in this division before, Coruxo managed to secure its league status for nine consecutive years (some characterised by a lot of struggles, others accomplished very comfortably). They are well on their way to recording a tenth successful league campaign thanks to having lost only one of their last 13 matches. Míchel Alonso's side currently sits fourth on the league table having accumulated 37 points so far.

Coruxo is a humble club that stays true to its philosophy of being a club of the people, a motto adopted and pursued since the 1930s. Known for attracting a number of footballers developed and formed in Galicia's big clubs, the squad includes players such as Jonathan Vila, Mateo or Al Watani (the team's current top scorer with six goals).

On Sunday, Coruxo will take to Can Misses hoping to continue its positive run of form in a season that shapes up to be its most successful to date in Segunda B.
