Javi Lara adds quality to the Ibiza playmaking position
Javier Lara Grande (Montoro, Córdoba, 4 December 1985) is Unión Deportiva Ibiza's latest signing. The playmaker arrives to add quality to Ibiza's playmaking position and also to incorporate his experience of having played the majority of his career in the Second Division. Javi Lara has accumulated 127 matches and eight goals in what is now called LaLiga SmartBank.
The Andalusian born player also knows what it means to compete at the highest level. During season 2014/2015, his stellar performances for teams such as Ponferradina (Second Division) and Alcoyano (Second Division B) eventually saw him sign for Eibar. He was a member of the Basque squad's inaugural season in LaLiga Santander. Javi Lara played 31 matches in the First Division (scoring one goal) and apart from representing Tenerife, he also gained international experience by playing for Atlético de Kolkata –Calcutta's professional team– before spending the last three seasons with his hometown club Córdoba Club de Fútbol.
On 30 June Lara became a free agent, and now, he has chosen to apply his talent and experience to the ambitious Sky Blue project.
