Pablo Alfaro: "This match serves us as a lesson of humility"

Pablo Alfaro was self-critical as he sat down for the post-match press conference at the Barreiro. "I'm very unhappy about the way we played in the first half. It's probably the first time this season where we were unrecognisable. In the first half we were very imprecise, gifting goalscoring opportunities. We were not able to be consistent in our play and we weren't even able to string four or five passes together. The second half was completely different and we were more like ourselves: a team that plays with intensity and that looks to create chances when having the ball", explained Ibiza's coach after his side's defeat to Celta B.

The second half saw both sides enjoy a number of goalscoring opportunities on either end. "We started to take a lot of risks with the result not being in our favour. In this phase you can score, but at the same time it is very likely that they will score as well", Alfaro acknowledged. He believes that his side needs to take this match as a positive lesson against a side that hadn't won at home in a while: "Normally, reserve sides tend to play well at home, but interestingly, Celta has been putting on better performances away from home this season. I think they will turn around their situation and for us this match clearly needs to serve as a lesson of humility. This division is extremely balanced and we cannot focus on the standings: teams that are in the lower regions of the table can quickly move up the ladder with a string of positive results and vice versa".
