It's the last home fixture of 2019 with next weekend's league encounter looming against Peña Deportiva at the Municipal de Santa Eulària. While a big group of supporters are expected to be at Vila des Riu to cheer on the team next Sunday, first, Pablo Alfaro's men want to provide a first festive present tomorrow (12 PM) at Can Misses to see out 2019 at the sky blues' home ground. Visiting the island and the fortress tomorrow is Marino de Luanco. Over the last twelve months, Ibiza has achieved thirteen victories andthree draws in eighteen matches. Exceptional numbers at the cauldron that is Can Misses which the team wants to continue “against a very tricky opponent”. That's how Alfaro analysed Marino the Friday's pre-match press conference. The team from Asturias started the season in the lower areas of the table, but recently managed to move out of the drop zone with a string of positive results.
Winning their last two league encounters, the team has collected 16 of the last 21 points. Travelling to Ibiza after a mid-week cup clash (eliminated at the hands of Logroñés), Alfaro knows that Marino will try to rely on its strengths when taking to the field at Can Misses: “It will be a very complicated match. They know how they want to play and how to achieve their objectives. Marino plays a very direct style of football. We will try to counteract this style by focusing on our own strengths”.
Alfaro will be without Gonzalo, due to injury and Quintanilla who is continuing his recovery from injury. The rest of the squad is available for selection for tomorrow's clash.
