2-1: IBIZA GET LAST-MINUTE WIN

Iosu scores injury time winner to beat Almería B.

Ibiza got an epic win after coming back against Almería B in the last game of the year at Can Misses. Palop’s side played 57 minutes with an extra man after Damián was sent off in the first half for the away side. Herrera and Iosu scored goals in the last quarter of an hour after Almería B had taken the lead.

The first half saw an Ibiza team in control of possession from the very start. The home side were dangerous down the wings, with both Candelas and Fobi creating plenty from out wide.

In the 31st minute the penalty awarded to Ibiza and the red card shown to Damián for handball seemed as if it would set Palop’s team on the way to victory. However, Chavero’s spot-kick was saved and Ibiza failed to take the lead. Just before the break Almería B threatened to open the scoring themselves with two corners in quick succession, but Ibiza held firm in defence and the teams went in level at half-time.

The second half began in much the same fashion as the first half had. Ibiza were going for it, while Almería B sat deep and tried to hang on. Verdú came close to scoring with a header from a corner that went just over the bar. Then Rodado saw an effort blaze wide of the post.

However, the deadlock was broken by Almeríá B on the 72nd minute when Darío took advantage of a defensive error. Ibiza reacted positively and threw men forward to try to get back into the game. Herrera equalised 5 minutes later with a great volley after good work from Serra. And they didn't stop there; deep into injury time, Iosu headed Ibiza to victory. It’s the team’s first comeback win of the season and it sent the Ibiza fans wild in the Can Misses stands.
