2-1. Inter downs Ibiza in a tight and balanced encounter

The artificial turf of the Polideportivo Municipal de Boadilla del Monte is a tough place to conquer. Ibiza experienced what several teams have so far this season, failing to get a win in the outskirts of Madrid. Instead it was Internacional’s Moyano, in minute 17, and Jaime Siaj, on the stroke of half-time that gave the win to the home side.
Ibiza managed to pull a goal back just after the second half had commenced when Diego Mendoza’s header found the back of the net. Pablo Alfaro’s side then grew in strength and confidence, buoyed by the red card shown to Inter’s Moyano, leaving the locals down to ten men. Although Ibiza was relentless in trying to score an equaliser, the Sky Blues came up just short to return to the island empty-handed. The team will now regroup and focus on preparing the Balearic derby next Sunday, 8 March in Mallorca away to Atlético Baleares.
