Pablo Alfaro: "We're back to winning ways at Can Misses, putting a smile back on our fans' faces"

"When you need to produce work and you have the right tools and resources at your disposal, the higher the chances of being successful". That's how Pablo Alfaro described the current situation Ibiza is going through after beating Getafe B. "Vindicated in the idea" that the team has been working on since preseason, the islanders put on a solid display for the majority of today's match.

"It took us a while to get going, because Getafe is a team that doesn't allow you to play the way you want, but there definitely were great moments that we produced. I told the lads that this game could be quite long and that it would depend entirely on ourselves if we can get going or not. We're back to winning ways, our supporters return from Can Misses with a smile on their faces, and that's what keeps us going", said Alfaro.

The coach also found words of praise for Ángel Rodado who scored the game's only goal: "It was a very typical goal of his, he looks for these opportunities and doesn't stop. It definitely helped us to open up the game thereafter". The coach also pointed out that his team still has ways to improve: "We still have plenty of things we can improve on. However, I prefer winning the way we did and keeping a clean sheet". Alfaro was also not concerned about other teams' results, especially those who are placed in the same half of the table. "The more points we collect, the better. There will be plenty of time left to check our mobile phones later to see how other teams performed", he said.

While today's league match was unfolding, the draw of the Copa del Rey took place. In a month's time, Ibiza will have to travel to Pontevedra to take on a fellow rival of its group in Segunda B. "The draw is always a tricky affair. For me personally, with it being the place where I got my first coaching job, Pasarón is always a pleasure to return to. They're a strong side. We'll put that encounter to the side for a month and will focus on it when the time comes: we will travel to Pontevedra to win the game, even though we know that it will be tough to do so", explained the team's head coach.
