2-2. Ibiza starts the new year with a draw against Langreo
Ibiza ended the first half of the season with a draw against Unión Popular de Langreo. The result was the first draw of the season at Can Misses. The point keeps Ibiza well-placed in the top echelon of the table even though the late equaliser left the Sky Blues with a bitter aftertaste.
Goals by Rodado in the sixth and Cirio in the thirty-sixth minute had Ibiza on its way to what looked like another victory on home soil. Both of Ibiza's strikers showed their class to put their side in a seemingly comfortable position at half-time. However, as the second half unfolded, Ibiza appeared to have lost some of its composure and found it difficult to continue along the path it embarked upon in the first forty-five minutes.
Scoring with its first shot on goal in the game, Langreo pulled one goal back shortly after the hour mark. The goal unsettled the home side, although Pablo Alfaro's men kept looking for a third goal to restore the two-goal lead. Unable to do so, Langreo maintained itself in the match and capitalised on Ibiza's growing number of unforced errors, culminating in a last-gasp equaliser which stunned the Sky Blues and the 2167 strong home crowd.
Buoyed by receiving a festive season gift from the club and a letter by president Amadeo Salvo, the fans left Can Misses with a bittersweet feeling, shifting their focus and aspirations towards Wednesday's cup tie against Pontevedra where the club will attempt to write history by passing the first round of the Copa Del Rey competition.
