Ibiza yesterday visited Sa Residència, a residence for seniors run by Grupo Policlínica. A handful of players of the sky blue squad –including Pep Caballé, Álex Quintanilla, Raí Nascimento, Toni Arranz, Fran Carbia and Miguel Núñez– spent the afternoon with the residents of a facility that takes pride in providing the utmost care to each of its seniors.
Ibiza's players were joined by the club's sporting director Fernando Soriano and took the opportunity to provide the residents with a number of gifts after interacting with the elderly in a variety of light physical activities. It was a perfect afternoon filled with smiles and affection to recharge the batteries and energy levels prior to Sunday's Balearic derby played at Can Misses against Atlético Baleares.
As a memento of the club's visit to Sa Residència an Ibiza flag signed by each of the six footballers and the sporting director will now adorn the halls of the residence, further proof that the passion for football and affection for a club involving itself in the local community of the island, is not restricted by age.
