Pablo Alfaro: "We lacked defensive forcefulness during their set-pieces"

Pablo Alfaro congratulated Internacional de Madrid for the win as he took his seat for the post-match press conference. The Sky Blues' head coach acknowledged his side's lack of defensive forcefulness and determination in dead-ball situations of the opposition. "In the final stretch of the league competition, no-one will make things easy for you and today we did not have our usually defensively solid base at the back which hurt us in the end".

With the introduction of Rodado in the second half, the team tried to play a more direct brand of football, which is not his side's usual approach. "At times in the second half, we looked like we deserved to take a point from here, but for me, their man of the match was Felipe Ramos who made a number of great saves", explained Alfaro.

Ibiza's head coach did not want to comment on the loss of Atlético Baleares and preferred to stay focused on his side's matters: "They follow their path, we follow ours. Now, of course, we move on and prepare next Sunday's match against them. The next ten rounds of league action will throw up a surprise or two, you'll see. It's the teams that manage to pick themselves up after a defeat the quickest that will collect the most points from here on in", said Alfaro who lamented the loss of Fran Grima due to a knee injury which will be assessed in the coming hours.
